Corruption and Literature: poem illustrates one of the main ills of Brazil
In an election climate, one of the main issues among the Brazilian population, which suffers from a lack of confidence in politicians in a widespread way, is corruption. Even with Operation Lava Jato, according to a Transparency International survey published in February this year, Brazilians began to feel a greater sense of corruption in the country, since it ranked 79th in the ranking in 2016 and moved to 96th place, losing 17 points in the Corruption Perceptions Index.
Mauro Felippe, a poet and lawyer, approaches the subject in an artistic way in his illustrated work "Espectros". In one of the verses of the poem "Corruption", the author writes:
I'm not sure if you want to know
What is happening behind that silent door
The flow of lies - constant
A touch of obscure power - roving
